Especially in the first month. It will be nice to have loaves you can pull out of the freezer when hunger strikes. I make Heidi Swanson's oat cakes all the time and they are wonderful and filling (and somewhat healthy, which makes me feel good). Good luck!Kirstenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13323602449289848471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5413615485793018819.post-3440082039006730082013-07-29T02:48:40.453+02:002013-07-29T02:48:40.453+02:00If I had four pound cakes in the freezer right now...If I had four pound cakes in the freezer right now, tomorrow there would be none and I would look rather pregnant myself.Alberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11128593283469648479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5413615485793018819.post-6604173143873635062013-07-28T01:09:11.981+02:002013-07-28T01:09:11.981+02:00A freezer stocked with pound cake--I love it, Tall...A freezer stocked with pound cake--I love it, Talley! It's been ages since I've made banana bread, and I don't think I've ever made a loaf with shredded coconut, so this is something I'll have to try.

I wish I had more advice as far as what else to stash in the freezer, but I'm no good at making meals to put away for another day. I usually only have pastry dough and maybe some homemade stock if I'm lucky! The best I've done this year is the onion and potato pierogis from the Oma and Bella cookbook, but they're a bit of a production--maybe too demanding for week 39?

Anyway, you are looking gorgeous. Best of luck with the final stretch!Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02728857878966566813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5413615485793018819.post-25952255058363945362013-07-26T11:09:18.184+02:002013-07-26T11:09:18.184+02:00I read this whole post thinking, enough with the c...I read this whole post thinking, enough with the cake, show me the bump. Yeah for a bump photo!...Talley, you look gorgeous! Yeah for a bump photo! I'm always open to trying new banana bread recipes and I'm intrigued by Zach's grandmother's recipe. Funny - I was listening to a podcast recently and they talked about starting with a cold oven. The podcast said it was because the recipe originated during the depression when people were super energy and cost conscious. I'm sure there are other reasons, too, but I thought that was interesting.

Can't wait for news of the baby's arrival! We've made Ina Garten's salmon cakes, bolognese sauce, chicken tortilla soup, and lots of granola and granola bars. I think next up might be some peanut sauce and some butternut squash and apple soup, although it's not really the season for that... I'm just hoping I'll be elbow deep in vegetable peelings when I go into labor. Hang in there! Looking fabulous (both you and your cakes)!Libbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11296732298576336516noreply@blogger.com
